Coming of Age Festival (成人の日 Seijin no Hi)

On January 14th in Japan, the Coming of Age Festival was celebrated in Japan. The festival celebrates the coming of age in Japan for people who have just turned 20. Girls dress up in kimonos and guys in kimonos or suits and they go to shrines and so on. In Japan, 成人の日is a nation holiday and 20 years of age is considered reaching adulthood in Japan, it is also the age when you are aloud to vote, smoke, and drink.
