Aria the Origination - Episode 1 「アリアジ・オリジネーション：エピソード１」

In That Spring Breeze That Finally Came to Visit… 「そのやがて訪れる春の風に…」

I have never watched any of the Aria series before, so this is my very first time seeing it. My friend in Japan really likes it, and when it aired in Japan recently he said I just “had” to see it, so I decided to watch the first episode today. (Before classes start too, college started back this morning…)

Arira the Origination opens with a undine in training by the name of Akira, she has been working together with her senpais at the carnival. Athena, Akira, and Aika are all traveling in a gondola together, and they come across Al and Akatsuki who are both studying for the graduation exam and drinking tea together. They leave them be and go to meet with Alicia and President Aria, who is apparently a little…alien? (having not seen this show I don’t know what they are, but they are pretty awesome.) They receive a present from a customer they had during they Carnival, and are also informed by the mail carrier of the coming of spring in Neo-Venezia.

Alicia and Akira begin cooking with President Aria in order to prepare for everyone else coming over for dinner. President Aria gets attacked, yet again, by President Maa, who tries to eat his bellybutton. Yup. The whole group discusses recent happenings with each other, and all of their recent trips they made with some pretty intense customers on their gondolas. I think the mindset that the senpais have are great. They talk of how even though they seem so good to everyone else, they work harder to better themselves every day, even if they seem amazing in others eyes. Working everyday to better themselves at what they do best. A very Japanese idea, yet an idea that all of us should follow in life, including myself.

Overall, I like Aria the Origination so far, it seems like a pretty interesting anime, so I am glad my friend suggested it. The setting for the anime is something I haven’t see so far, a Neo-Venezia based on Mars. I also really enjoy the opening and ending song, very relaxing. Well, once the next episode is out look forward to my response.
